How our syrup is made...
|Rob Webber, like his Mt. Vernon ancestors, has always loved making maple syrup. In 2004 he built his current sap house where fragrant steam surrounds the boiling sap in season, and some of the finest syrup in the State is produced.|
|Work begins long before sap season with installation and repair of lines. All must be ready when the sap starts to run in March!|
|Weather is a constant concern to the syrup maker, and every day during sap season is important. Quality depends a great deal on using fresh sap and taking good care of the trees for future production.|
